The Camp Field Trip That Comes to You

Camp directors juggle two constant problems: filling program blocks with something campers will talk about at pickup, and having a plan when it’s 98° or raining. A planetarium day in your rec hall solves both.

How a camp day runs

Same dome, same live presenters we bring to schools — pointed at camp. We set up in your gym or hall in about 30 minutes, then run half-hour sessions with groups of up to 50 campers rotating through. A half day (up to 4 sessions) is $999; a full day (up to 12 sessions) is $1,499. Setup, teardown, and travel within 50 miles of Chicago are all included.

We spent a lot of this summer at camps, and the dome slots into a camp schedule even more easily than a school one — activity blocks are made for it.

Educational, cinematic, or both

Camps get a choice schools usually don’t make:

• Live lessons — the same NGSS-aligned sessions we run in schools, matched to camper ages, from constellation stories for the youngest groups to a real tour of the solar system for older kids.
• Full-dome films — immersive movies projected across the entire dome. One World, One Sky is the favorite for younger campers; we bring other titles for older groups.

Plenty of camps mix them — films for the littles, live astronomy for the older units.

Weatherproof by definition

The dome is indoors and dark, in whatever climate your building has. Heat wave, storm day, air-quality day — the sky inside works regardless of the sky outside. Several directors book us specifically as the marquee indoor day on the calendar.

Zero lift for your staff

Counselors walk groups in and sit with them. That’s the whole staffing plan. We handle everything else, and we’re packed out about 30 minutes after the last session.

Day camps, park district camps, scout camps, church camps — if you have a room with a 12-foot ceiling (10 feet works with our low-profile dome), you have a planetarium. Summer calendars fill by spring, so Launch Your Mission early.
