How 600 Students See the Stars in One School Day

Big schools ask us the same fair question: how does every kid get a turn? The answer is groups of about 50, live 30-minute sessions, and a schedule your school controls.

The rhythm of a full day

We arrive about 30 minutes before your first group and set up the dome in the gym. From there the day runs in a loop: a class-sized group walks in, gets a live lesson under the stars, walks out, and the next group walks in. Swapping groups takes 5–10 minutes.

A full day covers up to 12 sessions — up to 600 students. A half day covers up to 4 sessions, about 200 students, morning or afternoon at your preference.

Your bell schedule runs the show

Schools build their own rotation, and that’s on purpose — you know your lunch waves, your specials, and which two teachers can’t be pulled at the same time. We slot into the schedule you build the same way a specials rotation does. If your periods are tighter than 30 minutes, tell us — we can adapt session length to fit your day, and we’ll be straight with you about what a shorter session trades away.

Every group gets its own lesson

This is the part that surprises people: session 1 and session 12 aren’t the same show. A pre-K group might get One World, One Sky; a 7th-grade group might get exoplanets. We bring 20+ NGSS-aligned lessons and match each group by grade, so the kindergartner and the 8th grader both walk out with something at their level. Browse them on the Lessons page.

What the numbers look like by age

Through middle school, about 50 students per session is comfortable. High school seniors take up more room — plan on about 40 per session for the oldest groups. Teachers ride along free, obviously, and most of them ask better questions than the kids (we say this with love).

For the biggest schools

If your enrollment is large enough that 12 sessions feels tight, an additional day is $1,199 beside the full-day $1,499 — every grade goes through without anyone rushing. Mention your enrollment when you reach out and we’ll help you think through one day versus two.
